United We Stand is the debut album by The Brotherhood of Man. It was released in 1970 on Deram. Songwriter and producer Tony Hiller formed The Brotherhood of Man in 1969 from a selection of session-singers and songwriters. Originally a five-member group although they became a quartet soon after, they began recording and writing together with the resultant first single Love One Another being released late in the year. In parts I wondered whether its actually Brotherhood of Man singing on this CD, or a tribute band, but overall after careful listening, I am pretty certain its them. The re-recordings of United We Stand and Where Are You Going To My Love, which were never sung by the Brotherhood of Man of the Save Your Kisses For Me era, are interesting to compare with the very different vocals, and rather more passionate delivery, of the original versions
