The Ridge - Sarah Neufeld. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Sarah Neufeld born August 27, 1979 is a Canadian violinist who is known for her work with indie rock band Arcade Fire, with whom she is a former core member and currently a touring member. She has worked with other artists and released a number of solo works. Neufeld was a core member of the band on its second and third studio albums, Neon Bible 2007 and The Suburbs 2010, and contributed as an additional musician on the albums Funeral 2004 and Reflektor 2013, and their subsequent tours. Unlike her nearly all instrumental debut, The Ridge incorporates vocals and a prominent rhythm section - with Arcade Fire's Jeremy Gara on drums - for a more pop-minded excursion. Also diverging from her debut, it was recorded almost entirely in one studio, Vermont farmhouse studio the End of the World, rather than in varied acoustical settings. That's not to say it isn't still sonically ambitious. SARAH NEUFELD - The Ridge Available Now: Paper Bag free to Sarah Neufeld The Ridge The Ridge, We've Got A Lot and more. 8 tracks 44:27. The Ridge is Neufeld's second album, following her debut Hero Brother. In addition to performing solo and with Arcade Fire, she is a founding member of Montréal's Bell Orchestre and of a new duo with her husband, the saxophonist Colin Stetson. This performance was recorded April 15, 2016 at Le Poisson Rouge. In an interview with Speakeasy, violinist Sarah Neufeld explains both a reverence for classical training, and an urge to pathfind at her leisure. For example, she forgoes normal musical notation for a peculiar system of maps and codes. Whatever it is, it translates well. Titular opener The Ridge is both powerful and delicate, with a triumphant shimmer. It conveys a sense of dawning but, rather than complete serenity, it resembles waking up mid-flight, instantly exhilarated. Fellow Arcade Fire member Jeremy Gara boosts the track with drum work that is either subtle or vivid as needed, prop. The Ridge, 2016. Sarah Neufeld. The Ridge, 08:01. We've Got a Lot, 03:35.
