Welcome is the fifth studio album by Santana, released in 1973. It followed the jazz-fusion formula that the preceding Caravanserai had inaugurated, but with an expanded and different lineup this time. Gregg Rolie had left the band along with Neal Schon to form Journey, and they were replaced by Tom Coster, Richard Kermode and Leon Thomas, along with guest John McLaughlin, who had collaborated with Carlos Santana on Love Devotion Surrender. Santana is a Latin music and rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1966 by Mexican-American guitarist Carlos Santana. The band came to public attention with their performance of Soul Sacrifice at Woodstock in 1969. This exposure helped propel their first album, also named Santana, into a hit, followed in the next two years by Abraxas and Santana III. Lineup changes were common. Carlos Santana's increasing involvement with guru Sri Chinmoy took the band into more esoteric music, though it never lost its Latin influence. Welcome Santana album. Santana Welcome. Etichetta: Columbia PC 32445. Formato: Vinyl, LP, Album. Paese: US. A great Santana album created during the apex of his jazz phase. You get it all here folks pop rock, latin influences such as BrazilianFlora Purim on a track now THATS worth a purchase alone, African and of course jazz. Melodies abound and the interplay of Tom Coster's Hammond and Rhodes playing with Carlos's guitar playing feels loose and free
