Notes

This was Max Webster’s fourth album, it secured them not only a Platinum record in Canada with three singles. It opened up the international market when they supported Rush on their 1979 ‘Hemispheres’ European tour. The album, in keeping with their quirky unconventional approach, was helmed not by a record producer, but by a TV advertising executive and jingle writer. Recorded in their native Canada, at Phase One Studios, Ontario, the album contains a number of key tracks; including ‘Let Go The Line’, ‘Night Flights’ and the title track. Best of all though is ‘Paradise Skies’, a captivating composition that nearly, but not quite, secured them an international hit. It’s also a record that captured some of band leader Kim Mitchell’s most fluent and impressive guitar solos. Rock Candy salutes Kim Mitchel!

Kersey left the band after their self-titled debut album, to be replaced by Gary McCracken. Band Name Max Webster. Album Name A Million Vacations. Type Album. Released date 1979. Labels Capitol Records EMI Records Anthem Records. Moon Voices. Look Out. Essential: a masterpiece of rock music17. Other high-points on the album include the smooth and somehow unsettling A Million Vacations, the key driven Look Out and the ever beautiful Let Go The Line with its well pulled off vocals not by Mitchell and classic riff which sticks in your head like some kind of crazy-glue. Research At Beach Resorts isn't quite as good as the band's former closing tracks, the best of which being the debut's Lily, but it still manages to show through with the band's quirk, something that has been absent through a lot of the album. A Million Vacations is a music album by Max Webster released in 1979. A Million Vacations is ranked 33,139th in the overall chart, 3,625th in the 1970s, and 352nd in the year 1979.
